It is now the 13th of November and I'm starting to spread the word that my new short story is available for purchase. However, I'd been advertising for weeks that I was going to release it on the 12th (11-12-13) Now I regret setting a date because, as self-published authors know, nothing ever goes perfectly as planned.
First of all, two days before the release date, my story and cover got erased after I decided to clean out my files without making back-ups. You just get to that moment when you have so much on your mind and you just react without planning. I thought I saved backups of everything, but I found out the hard way that I didn't.
So, I spent the latter part of those two days doing everything all over again and uploading it at the last minute. After that, nothing was going my way, like pricing, waiting for approval and other headaches that I don't even want to think about.
Well, after all of that, I'm happy to announce that my book is finally published and I hope everyone will download and read. It's a free download, so there's really no risk, whether they like it or not. One thing this experience has shown me is I need to make better business decisions and plan more carefully. I know these are rookie mistakes, but I won't allow these to become bad habits that'll ultimately result in my failure in the book writing business.
I want to apologize to all of you now and make a promise that I will try to do better business for all of you who are continuing to support me in my new venture in life. You deserve better from me and that's what I want to give, besides kick-ass stories to read and enjoy!!
